Klaus Zellmer has been named the new President and Chief Executive Officer of Volvo Cars. He is scheduled to assume his new role by October 1, 2027. Zellmer's most recent position was as the CEO of Skoda.

According to Eric Li, Chairman of Volvo Cars, Klaus Zellmer brings extensive expertise in the automotive industry and broad international leadership experience. Li also commented on Zellmer's proven track record of guiding organizations through periods of transformation and evolving market conditions. The appointment follows current CEO Håkan Samuelsson's recent announcement of his departure.

This leadership change comes as Volvo Cars is also embarking on a significant product expansion. The company plans to introduce 13 new models by the end of the decade. This initiative aims to double its market share in electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids, increasing it from approximately 1.7% currently.
