Centerview Partners, an independent investment-banking advisory firm, announced on September 28, 2026, that Bennett Schachter has joined as a Partner in New York. Schachter will lead and expand the firm's Capital Advisory offering. Centerview co-founders Robert Pruzan and Blair Effron emphasized that Schachter's extensive experience will enhance the firm's ability to provide strategic financing advice and unconflicted capital solutions, particularly in a complex and evolving financial environment. Centerview, founded 20 years ago, has advised on approximately $5 trillion in transactions.

Schachter brings decades of experience in public and private capital markets, spanning equity, equity-linked, credit, structured products, and alternative-capital solutions. Before joining Centerview, he was responsible for capital markets and financing solutions at Elliott Management Corporation. His prior roles also include global head of Alternative and Capital Solutions at Morgan Stanley and various leadership positions at Goldman Sachs in its Capital Markets division, such as head of Global Alternative Capital Solutions, head of Equity Syndicate, and head of Global Equity-Linked Solutions. He also worked in Goldman's Convertible Bonds and Derivatives and Institutional Equities groups.

Centerview aims to further deepen its Capital Advisory capabilities with Schachter's addition. The firm, known for advising on complex, industry-defining deals, believes his expertise will be crucial in navigating the current financing landscape. Schachter himself expressed excitement about joining Centerview, citing its talented teams, deep relationships, and ability to offer impartial and creative advice across financial markets. This move comes as investment banks are actively seeking to strengthen their deal-making teams, as evidenced by recent personnel changes in the industry, including Emlen Fischer's departure from Centerview to Citigroup in August 2026 to lead tech M&A.

Centerview, headquartered in New York with offices in London, Paris, Menlo Park, and San Francisco, is a leading provider of independent investment-banking advisory services. The firm specializes in M&A, independent board advice, special committees, shareholder activism, capital advisory, restructuring and recapitalization, and sovereign advisory. The firm has a workforce of 500-600 employees and annual revenue in the $80 million to $90 million range.
