Odido, the Dutch telecommunications group, has faced multiple challenges in its attempts to launch an Initial Public Offering (IPO). Owned by private equity firms Apax Partners and Warburg Pincus, Odido's journey to the public market has been characterized by delays and postponements.
In November 2024, reports indicated that Apax and Warburg Pincus were exploring an IPO for Odido, with potential advisors being interviewed for a listing in 2025. The business was estimated to be valued at as much as €7 billion ($7.3 billion at the time). By January 2025, banks including Barclays Plc, Goldman Sachs Group Inc., and Morgan Stanley were selected to lead a share sale that could raise more than €1 billion. However, this initial plan fell through due to market chaos attributed to US President Donald Trump's tariff implementation.
Despite the setbacks, Odido revived its IPO plans. In January 2026, the company was again considering launching an IPO as soon as that month, aiming to raise approximately €1 billion ($1.2 billion) or more. However, by February 2026, these plans were once again postponed. Sources indicated that the decision to shelve the IPO was due to a muted response from investors and concerns over the volatility shaking global equity markets, with no firm timeline for when the offering would proceed. The company, previously T-Mobile Netherlands, was acquired by Apax and Warburg for €5.1 billion in 2021 and rebranded as Odido in 2023.
