Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced new hardware during the Connect 2026 conference, including the Meta VR Glasses, priced at $1,299.99 and set to launch in spring 2027. These glasses are designed to be slimmer and lighter than previous Quest models, featuring a 5K Infinite Display built on micro-OLED panels and powered by an external puck containing the Qualcomm processor and battery to reduce weight. Zuckerberg highlighted their ability to provide an "IMAX-grade cinema experience and full spatial computing" along with eye and hand tracking capabilities.

Zuckerberg also introduced the Muse Charm, a handheld device that works with Meta's recently released Muse AI personal agent. While specific pricing for the Muse Charm was not disclosed, it is intended to provide a quick way for users to interact with Muse without needing a phone, and is planned to ship for the holidays in December. Muse itself, Meta's personal AI agent, is being integrated across various devices, including AI glasses, allowing users to ask for assistance with tasks like workouts, meal logging, shopping, or appointments hands-free.

Meta further expanded its AI glasses lineup, introducing Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses and a broader collection of AI glasses across Ray-Ban, Oakley, and Meta Glasses brands, with over 100 styles expected by the end of the year. These AI glasses will support features like hearing enhancement, improved visual understanding with Meta AI, and customizable controls. The integration of Muse into these glasses allows for real-time conversation and action based on what the user is looking at, with Muse able to drive applications on devices like a Mac and connect to various services such as Shopify, Walmart, and Expedia.
