Dinesh Thakkar, the founder and chairman of Angel One Limited, has acquired a complete residential tower in Mumbai's upscale Juhu neighborhood for about $85.1 million (₹711 crore). This transaction, for a G+7-storey tower at Embassy Terazza, is being hailed as India's largest single residential unit deal. The property boasts a RERA carpet area of 63,000 square feet, translating to a record-setting approximately ₹1.13 lakh per square foot for residential property in Juhu. Thakkar intends to name his new family home 'Angelus'.

The Embassy Terazza development, located on Juhu Tara Road, is an ultra-luxury, low-density project spanning over two acres, featuring around 50 residences and an estimated Gross Development Value exceeding ₹3,000 crore. Each of the five towers in the development offers one residence per floor with panoramic sea and city views. This deal highlights the strong demand for trophy assets in prime Mumbai locations among India's wealthiest individuals, including business families, industrialists, and celebrities.

The acquisition by Thakkar underscores the significant wealth being generated by Indian financial services entrepreneurs and the growing appetite for high-end properties. The deal not only marks a personal milestone for Thakkar, who built Angel One into a prominent retail stockbroking business, but also resets benchmarks for property valuations in the surrounding micro-market. This trend is part of a larger pattern in India where single apartments exceeding ₹100 crore are becoming more common, with Mumbai dominating this ultra-luxury market segment. For instance, a pair of sea-facing duplexes in Worli previously held the record at about ₹703 crore ($84.1 million) in 2025.
