Qatar's Minister of Commerce and Industry, HE Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani, participated in a plenary session at the Qatar Economic Forum, powered by Bloomberg, on September 20, 2026. The session, titled 'The Growth Agenda,' was held in conjunction with the 2026 United Nations General Assembly.

Sheikh Faisal joined Bruce Flatt, Chief Executive Officer of Brookfield Corporation, to examine key factors shaping global trade and investment, trends in capital flow, and opportunities for markets and companies to expand their operations. The discussion also focused on strategies to strengthen economic resilience and enhance economies' ability to adapt to geopolitical and technological transformations.

The session was broadcast live at 6:55 PM Doha time via Bloomberg. This discussion follows a significant $20 billion strategic investment partnership formed in December 2025 between Brookfield and Qai, a subsidiary of the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), to develop artificial intelligence infrastructure in Qatar and select international markets. This initiative is a cornerstone of Brookfield's global AI infrastructure program, which aims to mobilize up to $100 billion in total investment globally, and aligns with Qatar's ambition to become a leading AI hub and its National Vision 2030 for economic diversification.
