Cantor Fitzgerald held its annual Charity Day on September 11th, 2026, marking 25 years since the devastating 9/11 terrorist attacks. The firm, which lost 658 employees in the World Trade Center, has transformed this tragic day into one of Wall Street's largest charitable events. Employees waive a day's pay to contribute to the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund, which raised a record $15 million last year, and they aim to exceed that amount for the 25th anniversary.
Brandon Lutnick, Chairman, and Kyle Lutnick, Executive Vice Chairman, provided an exclusive look inside Cantor's New York trading floor, explaining the firm's deep commitment to this tradition. This initiative underscores Cantor Fitzgerald's enduring legacy of giving and remembrance, turning profound loss into a powerful force for good.
The firm's headquarters occupied the 101st through 105th floors of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. On 9/11, 658 of Cantor's 960 New York employees were killed, along with 50 contractors and visitors. Additionally, 61 individuals from Euro Brokers, now part of Cantor, also perished. The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund has also published a book, "The Families: 9/11 Anthology of Love, Loss, and Lessons of Resilience," edited by Edith Lutnick and Caroline Aiken Koster, featuring essays, poems, letters, and speeches from affected families and survivors.
