Cantor Fitzgerald and its affiliate BGC Group hosted their annual Charity Day on Friday, September 11, 2026. This event serves to honor the 658 Cantor Fitzgerald employees and 61 Euro Brokers colleagues and friends who perished in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The firm dedicates a full day's revenue to the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund, which uses these donations to support families and communities affected by the attacks and other tragedies.

Celebrity ambassadors, including prominent actors, musicians, sports icons, models, media personalities, royalty, and politicians, participate in the event by joining traders on the trading floors at multiple offices. These ambassadors represent various charities that are significant to the employees, clients, and families associated with Cantor Fitzgerald, helping to channel kindness in the aftermath of 9/11. The event aims to transform a solemn day of remembrance into a positive initiative through community support.

Brandon Lutnick, chairman of Cantor Fitzgerald, and Kyle Lutnick, executive vice chair, were involved in the 2025 Charity Day, discussing topics like SPACs and crypto. Brandon, who was three years old during 9/11, reflected on the profound impact of the attacks on his family, including the loss of his uncle and godfather. His father, then-CEO Howard Lutnick, survived because he was dropping off Kyle for kindergarten, an action that deviated from his usual routine of going directly to Cantor's offices in the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

The 2026 Charity Day marked 25 years since the terrorist attacks. The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund also published a book, "The Families: 9/11 Anthology of Love, Loss, and Lessons of Resilience," edited by Edith Lutnick, cofounder, president, and executive director of the fund, and Caroline Aiken Koster, the fund's general counsel. This anthology features essays, poems, letters, and speeches from families, survivors, and witnesses, providing a comprehensive look at the firm's journey of grief and resilience since 9/11.
