Hitachi Ltd. and Platinum Equity LLC are reportedly among the bidders for a unit of the Austrian traffic technology group Swarco. The sale of the Swarco unit could value it at approximately 1 billion euros, or about $1.1 billion.
The potential transaction is still in the early stages, and there is no guarantee that any of the interested parties will reach a final agreement. The process remains fluid, and other bidders could also emerge or withdraw their interest.
Swarco, based in Wattens, Austria, specializes in products and systems for road marking, urban and interurban traffic management, parking, and public transport. A sale of one of its units would represent a significant strategic move for the company.
