Westwood Holdings Group (NYSE: WHG), a prominent asset manager, announced the launch of the Westwood Salient Enhanced Power & Infrastructure ETF (PWRX) on September 17, 2026. This ETF is significant as it will be the first new ETF to launch on the Texas Stock Exchange (TXSE). Brian Casey, CEO of Westwood Holdings Group, expressed his enthusiasm for this partnership, highlighting the fitting nature of a Dallas-based manager and Houston-based energy team opening a Texas exchange with a focus on industries crucial for the country's future. He also praised TXSE's market maker program and trading technology, anticipating a positive trading experience for PWRX investors.

PWRX, or "Power-X," is the newest addition to Westwood's Enhanced Income Series™ ETFs. It is an actively managed ETF designed to combine an income strategy with exposure to high-growth areas within the energy market. The fund aims for total return through both income and capital appreciation, responding to a new era of accelerating power demands in the U.S. driven by factors like AI, data centers, and industrial reshoring. The ETF will invest across the entire power ecosystem, encompassing traditional energy, utilities, grid infrastructure, data-center infrastructure, and next-generation energy technologies.

The ETF's strategy includes a high-conviction equity portfolio paired with a systematic covered call overlay, intended to generate monthly income. This approach offers a balance between potential capital appreciation and income generation, while also providing some cushion against market volatility, though it may limit upside in times of significant price increases in the energy sector. James H. Lee, Chairman and CEO of the Texas Stock Exchange, emphasized TXSE's pride in partnering with Westwood for this inaugural ETF launch, noting that the exchange's commitment to aligning with issuers and sponsors is designed to foster market innovation.

Westwood's decision to list PWRX on TXSE marks a significant milestone for the newly established exchange. The ETF will be managed by Westwood's experienced Houston-based Energy team. This launch follows Westwood's filing of a prospectus with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, marking the first public commitment for a primary listing on TXSE. This move reflects a broader trend towards innovation and regional growth in the financial sector, with both Westwood and TXSE aiming to shape the future of income-oriented investing and expand the financial landscape in Texas. The TXSE, which received SEC approval in fall 2025 and has $275 million in backing, plans for its exchange-traded product listings to launch in September 2026.
