Nvidia Corp. is reportedly in advanced discussions to acquire the artificial intelligence startup Hugging Face in a transaction estimated to be around $14 billion. The deal, which could be finalized as early as this week, may include an acquisition price of $12.9 billion for Hugging Face, with an additional $1 billion allocated as a retention package for its employees. This acquisition would be a significant move for Nvidia, aiming to broaden the adoption of AI and expand its customer base by gaining control over a key platform for AI model sharing. Hugging Face, founded in 2016, was previously valued at $4.5 billion in a funding round three years ago.

In other AI investment news, Wonderful, an Israeli-Dutch AI startup specializing in coordinating artificial intelligence agents, successfully closed a fundraising round. This round, led by Insight Partners, secured $550 million and valued the company at $5 billion. Other investors in this round included Salesforce Inc., Index Ventures, IVP, Vine Ventures, 9Yards, and Bessemer Venture Partners. This development highlights continued strong investor interest in AI technologies.

Additionally, Lyte, a fast-growing robotics and artificial intelligence startup founded by former Apple Face ID engineers, secured approximately $165 million in a new funding round. This financing round, led by Maverick Silicon with participation from existing investors like Fidelity Management & Research and Atreides Management, more than tripled the company's valuation to $1.6 billion. Since its founding in 2021, Lyte has raised a total of $272 million, focusing on developing technology to enhance robot vision capabilities.
