Bobby Jain's multistrategy hedge fund, Jain Global, which launched with $5.3 billion in commitments and currently manages about $6 billion, has decided to return all external cash to its investors. The firm will now exclusively manage money for Millennium Management, the hedge fund giant run by billionaire Izzy Englander. This move comes less than two years after Jain Global's launch, with the firm concluding that collaboration with an established player like Millennium is a better strategy than direct competition in the current market.

Jain Global's pivot involves a strategic partnership where Millennium will gain exclusive access to the full investment capacity of Jain Global’s multistrategy business. The deal is expected to close in the coming months, though neither Jain Global nor Millennium has commented publicly on the agreement. Despite managing money solely for Millennium, Jain Global will retain its independence and gain access to Millennium's platform and resources.

Jain Global has six offices and over 400 employees, with half of them being investment professionals. Before this tie-up, Jain Global was expanding its presence in Asia, including a 50% expansion of its Hong Kong office space by early 2027 to accommodate 25 more employees. The firm's performance included a 0.5% return in its first six months of trading in 2024 and 3.7% in its first full year in 2025. In contrast, Millennium gained 10.5% in 2025 and manages over $79 billion across various asset classes. The agreement occurs as hedge funds face increased market volatility, partly due to geopolitical conflicts.
