Gatwick Airport is facing a water outage after a main burst in a field in Horley, as confirmed by SES Water. This incident is affecting the water supply in both the North and South Terminals of the airport, although flights are not currently impacted. SES Water and airport staff are investigating and working to repair the issue.

The current outage marks the second time this summer that Gatwick has faced significant water supply problems. In July, the airport experienced a major outage that led to long queues for toilets and the closure of restaurants and bars, with both terminals losing running water after a power failure at a local treatment works. This previous incident caused considerable frustration among passengers.

As a result of the current issue, toilets in the North Terminal are closed, and while food outlets remain open, they are for passenger seating only. Most toilets in the South Terminal are still operational. Passengers have expressed frustration, noting the lack of water for handwashing and comparing the situation to the previous outage. SES Water's head of networks, Anthony Rochester, stated that teams are on site to resolve the issue as quickly and safely as possible, apologizing for the disruption to customers, including Gatwick Airport.
