Technology stocks surged on Thursday, driven by a blockbuster earnings report and optimistic outlook from chipmaking giant Nvidia. Nvidia's shares jumped approximately 9%, adding $442 billion to its market value, after forecasting about 70% revenue growth for the next fiscal year. This performance bolstered confidence in the artificial intelligence sector, which has been a key driver of the current bull market. Other tech companies, including Salesforce and CrowdStrike, also saw significant gains of 22.6% and 20.5% respectively, after raising their own forecasts.

The S&P 500 rose 0.72% to 7,730.99, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 1.57% to 26,541.35. The Dow Jones Industrial Average also increased by 0.2% to 53,569.44. The S&P 500 Information Technology sector was the sole gainer among the S&P 500's 11 major sectors, rising 3.4%. Despite these gains in tech, most other sectors declined, reflecting concerns about higher interest rates, geopolitical tensions, and global trade.

Investors are now eagerly awaiting Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's keynote speech at the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium on Friday. Warsh is expected to address inflation and provide clues on the central bank's monetary policy stance. Analysts anticipate he may deliver an economic outlook with a "hawkish flavor" to manage long-term yields, though some believe clear policy signals will be scarce, with Warsh potentially focusing on broader issues and findings from five Fed task forces.
