Apollo Global Management Inc. is reportedly close to a deal to acquire Atlantic Aviation from KKR & Co., in a transaction that values the private jet fixed-base operator at nearly $10 billion. This information comes from individuals familiar with the matter, as reported on March 30, 2026. This acquisition involves Apollo teaming up with the Singaporean sovereign wealth fund GIC Pte to purchase a majority stake in Atlantic Aviation. KKR, the current owner, is not entirely exiting the investment; instead, it plans to inject new capital to maintain a significant ownership position in the company.
Atlantic Aviation specializes in providing crucial ground services for private aircraft, including fueling, maintenance, de-icing, and hangar leasing. The company has been expanding, reaching its 106th location in September 2025 and extending its operations into the Caribbean in December 2025. KKR initially acquired Atlantic Aviation in 2021 for $4.5 billion, indicating a substantial increase in its valuation over a relatively short period.
The European Commission has given its approval to the acquisition. On August 6, 2026, the Commission decided not to oppose the notified concentration, declaring it compatible with the internal market under the EU Merger Regulation. This decision followed a simplified review procedure, as the transaction primarily impacts ground handling services in North America and the Caribbean, with a limited effect on the European Economic Area. This regulatory clearance paves the way for the deal to proceed, with an official announcement potentially coming soon.
