Stability AI announced on August 25, 2026, a new Series B funding round totaling $76 million. This brings the total amount raised under CEO Prem Akkaraju, who took the helm in June 2024, to $232 million (approximately 37 billion yen). The funds will be allocated to product development for creative production, strengthening applied research, and expanding the professional services division.
The investment round included a new roster of investors from the entertainment and technology sectors. Notable participants include Electronic Arts (EA), Sony Music Group, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, AMD Ventures, and Pacific Alliance Ventures. Existing investors such as Coatue, Greycroft, Kadmos Capital, Sean Parker, and Eric Schmidt also made second investments.
CEO Prem Akkaraju highlighted that this diverse group of investors validates their vision for generative AI empowering producers, musicians, and storytellers. He emphasized Stability AI's unique position as a creative collective building tools for creative individuals. The investors are expected to provide not only funding but also expertise, credibility, and direct connections with artists, which Akkaraju believes will ensure the company's long-term success. Additionally, Thomas Lafont, co-founder of Coatue, has joined Stability AI's board of directors.
