Bing Crosby's former Nevada ranch, known as Lawson Ranch, has reportedly sold for more than double its 2019 asking price of $7.28 million. The 3,000-acre property, located near Elko, Nevada, was one of several ranches owned by the legendary entertainer in the 1940s and 1950s.
The ranch was a personal retreat for Crosby, who would visit to hunt and fish, and was even named honorary mayor of Elko in 1948. Northeastern Nevada Museum archivist Toni Mendive noted that Crosby brought his sons to the ranch to experience life away from Hollywood. The property features a 5,000-square-foot main home, three guesthouses, a private airstrip, an airplane hangar, two barns, and a repair shop, and operates as a cattle ranch with 600 cows.
Listing agent Todd Renfrew of Outdoor Properties of Nevada described the property as a "quintessential turnkey western cattle ranch." While the current owner and the exact sale price have not been disclosed, the last reported sale of Lawson Ranch was in 2010 to Ken Lawson, who sold it for an undisclosed amount, having previously asked $4.25 million.
