Walmart is strategically relaunching its 30-year-old private-label fashion brand, 'No Boundaries,' with a renewed focus on Generation Z customers. The brand, which currently generates $2 billion in annual sales for Walmart, is being refreshed with styles popular among younger shoppers, including oversized tees, baggy jeans, cropped T-shirts, faux leather corsets, and bomber jackets. This move is part of Walmart's broader strategy to position itself as a fashion destination, encouraging customers to view it as a place for trendy apparel in addition to groceries.

The updated 'No Boundaries' collection, which launched in July, features approximately 130 pieces, with 80% of items priced at $15 or less, and many pieces, like crop tees and graphic tees, available for just $5. The company has also expanded the size range to be more inclusive, offering sizes from XXS to 5X for young women's clothing and XS to 3X for young men's. To appeal to Gen Z's values, some items are made from recycled fabrics, and the brand is introducing a plant-based bra pad made from over 75% sugarcane in select bra styles.

Walmart has invested in an expert design team, the first dedicated fashion designers for the 'No Boundaries' brand, to ensure the assortment resonates with Gen Z's desire for self-expression and mix-and-match pieces. To reach this demographic, Walmart is also utilizing social media channels, including an immersive experience on Roblox, where a creator will curate outfits and enable users to buy real-world clothing and unlock virtual twins. This relaunch aims to capture a significant portion of the Gen Z market, with their households already spending over $10,000 annually in stores, and Walmart being their preferred shopping destination over competitors like Amazon and Target.
