Lori Hall-Kimm, the head of global private equity at the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP), is departing to pursue another opportunity. Her departure was announced in an internal memo, and a HOOPP spokesperson confirmed the change.
Since Hall-Kimm joined HOOPP in 2022, the private equity arm's net assets increased significantly from approximately C$20 billion to C$24.2 billion. Before her tenure at HOOPP, she held several private equity positions at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board for six years.
Mark Cormier and Roman Gula, both managing directors within HOOPP's private equity group, will succeed Hall-Kimm as interim co-heads. They will report directly to Chief Investment Officer Michael Wissell. This internal promotion strategy ensures continuity in managing HOOPP's substantial private equity portfolio, which was a meaningful slice of the plan's C$132 billion in total assets at the end of 2025.
