Tanger Inc. reported strong second-quarter results for 2025, with gains across various metrics. The company attributed this success to a surge in consumer traffic, fueled by the World Cup and an early start to back-to-school shopping. This positive performance led to a notable increase in Tanger's stock price.
The company's core funds from operations (FFO) rose to $0.58 per share, or $68.6 million, surpassing the $0.53 per share, or $60.9 million, reported in the prior-year period. Net income also saw a significant jump, reaching $29.9 million, or $0.26 per share, compared to $24.6 million, or $0.22 per share, in the same quarter last year. These results beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.56 per share.
The CEO noted that consumer demand started strengthening in April, following announcements regarding tariffs, prompting customers to shop earlier due to concerns about inventory availability. The boost from back-to-school marketing, which began in June, and tax-free weeks during July and late June further contributed to the company's robust performance.
