New Orleans is gearing up for a vibrant August 2026 arts scene, with Fidelity White Linen Night kicking off on August 1st throughout the Arts District. The Ogden Museum of Southern Art will present "Louisiana Contemporary, Presented by the Helis Foundation" from August 1st through August 4th, 2027. Additionally, the New Orleans Museum of Art is showcasing "George Dureau: Selected Photographs" through August 9th.
In Philadelphia, "The Mini Mini Art Show" is running at "At My House," a vintage clothing and homewares store in Queen Village. This exhibition features original works measuring just 1.5 inches by 1.5 inches, with artist Fabiola Lara contributing pieces depicting tiny clothing, houses, rooms, and classic artworks. The show, which is a collaboration between store owner Kelly Braun and Lara, runs through August 2nd.
The Bryn Mawr Film Institute is screening "Mary Oliver: Saved by the Beauty of the World," a documentary on the life and career of poet Mary Oliver, from July 31st through August 6th. The film, directed by Sasha Waters, features readings by Helena Bonham Carter and Oprah Winfrey. Also in Philadelphia, jeweler Steven Lagos has a flag flying at Rockefeller Center as part of the "United Flags of Fashion" project, honoring America's milestone birthday.
