Since his 2024 election victory, Donald Trump has amassed more than $781.9 million in donations and other payments, according to Wall Street Journal reporting. This substantial sum has been channeled through a network of nonprofits, cultural institutions, and committees linked to the President and his allies. The scale of this fundraising, and the potential ties between donor contributions and administration priorities, is described as unprecedented, fostering concerns regarding transparency and ethical practices in political fundraising.

The largest portion of these funds, over $390 million, went to MAGA Inc., a super political action committee established in 2024 to back Trump and his agenda. Notable donors to MAGA Inc. include OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman, who contributed $25 million, Meta, which donated $22 million, and Amazon and Alphabet, each contributing $1 million. The Trump Vance Inaugural Committee is the second-highest recipient, having collected over $241.4 million. Foris Dax (parent company of Crypto.com) donated $35 million to this committee, while Reynolds American, a major tobacco company, gave $8 million, with $5 million of that coinciding with Trump's announcement to lift restrictions on flavored vape products.

Additional fundraising efforts include the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Foundation, which has raised at least $103 million, and other organizations like the National Garden of American Heroes and Securing American Greatness, which have not fully disclosed their finances. Securing American Greatness had over $83 million in net assets after the 2024 election. The Trust for the National Mall, intending to improve the National Mall, has also been used for private donations related to Trump's ballroom project. While many of these donations are legally permissible under U.S. campaign finance rules, the interconnectedness of donors with the administration's policy decisions and the overall magnitude of the funds are raising questions about ethical conduct.

Several wealthy individuals have also made significant contributions to Trump-affiliated super PACs. Jeffrey Yass, a billionaire trader, donated $16 million, while Ronald Lauder, a cosmetics heir, contributed $5 million. Elon Musk made a $5 million donation to MAGA Inc. and an additional $5 million to two other PACs supporting Republican majorities in Congress. Kelcy Warren, CEO of Energy Transfer Partners, and his company collectively gave $25 million. Blockchain.com also donated $5 million. These funds are largely being stockpiled, with MAGA Inc. reporting $196 million in cash on hand, primarily for use in the 2026 primaries or to aid Republicans in upcoming midterm elections. Trump's leadership PAC, Never Surrender, has $38 million in cash on hand. Overall, Trump's campaign and related affiliates raised $138.7 million in July, with $327 million in cash on hand heading into August.
