Nebex, a new venture founded by former Axiom Space executives Tejpaul Bhatia (CEO), Anand Subramanian, and Manlio Di Stefano, has received $30 million in seed funding from Google Ventures (GV), Alphabet's venture capital arm. The company's mission is to establish market infrastructure for the global space financial system, aiming to facilitate global sourcing, reliable transactions, and faster development of space programs for sovereign, industrial, and financial participants.
The founders, who bring extensive operational experience in commercial space and international business from their time at Axiom Space, believe that the next phase of space growth will be driven by marketplaces and financial networks. They note that as launch costs decrease and access to space becomes more consistent, a broader space economy is emerging. This economy requires not only launch vehicles and spacecraft, but also trusted commercial mechanisms to connect various stakeholders.
Nebex is focused on creating these commercial "rails" to foster the space market's development with enhanced speed, order, and transparency. GV expressed excitement in supporting Nebex, highlighting the founders' deep expertise in complex sovereign and commercial space initiatives. The company's goal is to become a vital part of the connective tissue, serving as a marketplace and exchange that links buyers, sellers, and capital across the international space sector.
