M&G has appointed Matt Mansour as its new Chief Technology and AI Officer, effective September 16. Mansour will be a member of M&G’s group executive committee and will be responsible for leading the firm’s technology function, including its digital and AI strategy, as well as cybersecurity. He will report directly to group CEO Andrea Rossi. Rossi emphasized the increasing importance of technology, data, and AI in supporting M&G’s growth ambitions, enhancing client and colleague experience, and improving operational efficiency.
Mansour is replacing Chris Cochrane, who is stepping down at the end of July after eight years as the group chief information technology officer. Prior to joining M&G, Mansour spent eight months as COO of next generation technology and AI enablement at SMBC. His extensive experience includes seven years as group executive, technology and operations at QBE Insurance, and various roles at Barclays, such as chief technology information security officer and group chief technology architect.
His appointment highlights M&G’s strategic focus on leveraging advanced technologies to drive future growth and innovation. M&G, with £343.5 billion in assets under management and administration, is actively investing in new strategies and areas like private markets and impact investing, as evidenced by its M&G Catalyst program. The company is also working on launching new products, including an LTAF in the UK and an Eltif for private credit, to meet evolving client needs and expand its market presence.
