One person was killed and three others sustained injuries in a shooting that occurred in a parking garage in Seattle’s Pioneer Square early Sunday morning. The incident, which police believe involved multiple shooters, stemmed from a physical altercation that may have been over a parking space.
Seattle police officers responded to calls of gunfire at approximately 1:30 a.m. at the Sinking Ship parking garage in the 500 block of 2nd Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered a man with a fatal gunshot wound to the head, who was pronounced dead at the scene by the Seattle Fire Department.
Separately, a second adult male victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. A 20-year-old woman was also treated for a graze wound by fire crews and taken to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition. A fourth victim, also with a graze wound from gunfire, later transported herself to a hospital.
Detectives are currently reviewing video evidence and interviewing witnesses to piece together the events. While two individuals were arrested at the scene for "disturbances," police have clarified that these arrests are unrelated to the homicide investigation. No suspects have been taken into custody in connection with the shooting.
