Hasbro reported a strong second quarter in 2026, driven significantly by the continued success of its Magic: The Gathering franchise. Quarterly revenue for Magic eclipsed $500 million, marking a 32% increase for the game. This growth was largely attributed to the record-breaking debut of the Marvel Super Heroes set, which achieved over $300 million in revenue, making it the biggest Magic release in the game's 33-year history. Additionally, the Secrets of Strixhaven set, released in April, surpassed previous records to become the largest Magic Premier set ever, indicating a "flywheel firing on all cylinders" for the franchise, according to CEO Chris Cocks.
Hasbro's overall second-quarter revenue rose 16% to $1.14 billion, surpassing analysts' estimates of $1.07 billion. The company's adjusted profit for the quarter fell 1.5% to $1.28 per share, still beating analyst estimates of $1.14 per share. This strong performance led Hasbro to raise its annual forecasts, now expecting revenue growth in the range of 5% to 7% (up from 3% to 5%) and adjusted core profit between $1.45 billion and $1.50 billion (up from $1.40 billion to $1.45 billion).
The Wizards of the Coast and Digital Gaming unit, home to Magic: The Gathering, saw a 27% rise in revenue, compared to 16% growth a year earlier. This unit's operating profit reached $298 million in Q1 2026 with a 51% operating margin. Hasbro's success in digital gaming was further bolstered by Monopoly Go!, contributing $41 million in Q1. The company plans to release a Star Trek-themed set in November, further expecting continued growth into 2027.
