Jane Street Group reported a record-breaking first quarter in 2026, generating $16.1 billion in trading revenue. This figure more than doubled its trading revenue from the first quarter of the previous year, 2025, according to people familiar with the matter.

Net income also saw a significant increase, more than doubling year-over-year to reach $10.3 billion in the first three months of 2026. This performance further cements Jane Street's status at the forefront of Wall Street's trading desks.

Separately, Jane Street achieved a Wall Street record of $39.6 billion in trading revenue for the entire year 2025, surpassing its closest competitors, including JPMorgan Chase & Co. by 11%. During the last quarter of 2025, the firm captured $15.5 billion in revenue. In comparison, Citadel Securities posted about $12.2 billion and Hudson River Trading about $12.3 billion in trading revenue for 2025.

S&P upgraded Jane Street's outlook to positive, affirming a 'BB' issuer credit rating, citing its growing franchise and diversification. Moody's also upgraded Jane Street Group's outlook from stable to positive, while affirming its Ba1 long-term issuer rating for the group and Baa3 for its operating subsidiaries. Both ratings agencies highlighted the firm's strong profitability, increasing diversification, and enhanced risk management strategies, though S&P also noted the firm's rapid growth as a potential source of risk.
