Ralph Lauren announced plans to open "The Polo Bar Ralph Lauren" in London in 2028, marking the first permanent Polo Bar location outside of New York City. The new restaurant will be situated at 1 Hanover Square, a historic site in Mayfair that was previously known as Vogue House.
This expansion is part of Ralph Lauren's broader strategy to grow its hospitality business, which currently includes restaurants in New York, Paris, Chicago, Milan, and Chengdu, along with over 40 Ralph's Coffee locations globally. The London outpost will aim to replicate the acclaimed charm and timeless elegance of the original New York Polo Bar.
The decision to open in London is not surprising given Ralph Lauren's strong presence in the city, which includes 12 stores and two Ralph's Coffee locations. London is also home to Ralph Lauren's first international flagship store, opened in 1981 on New Bond Street. Furthermore, Ralph Lauren has deep ties to British culture, having been the official outfitter of the Wimbledon tennis championships since 2006 and its chief creative officer, Ralph Lauren, receiving an Honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in 2019.
