Carlyle Group Inc. is selling its majority stake in the German identity security firm iC Consult to Bridgepoint. This transaction will see Carlyle completely exit its position in iC Consult, which it initially invested in back in 2021. The deal is reported to value iC Consult at approximately 400 million to 450 million euros ($470 million to $528 million), according to sources familiar with the matter.

Bridgepoint, a British investment firm, is increasing its exposure to cybersecurity services through this acquisition. iC Consult, founded by Jürgen Biermann in 1997 and headquartered in Munich, specializes in helping companies and organizations manage digital access rights. The company has over 850 experts across Europe and North America and has notably expanded its international footprint and delivered approximately 20% annual growth in Europe between 2020 and 2025 during Carlyle's ownership.

The acquisition aims to accelerate iC Consult's international expansion, strengthen its managed services, invest in AI-enabled capabilities, and pursue strategic mergers and acquisitions to build a larger global identity security platform. Jürgen Biermann, the founder and CEO, along with the management team, will remain invested alongside Bridgepoint, which will become the new majority shareholder. The transaction is pending regulatory approvals and is anticipated to close in the third quarter of 2026.
