Dan Ives, a well-known technology analyst on Wall Street with 25 years of experience, has departed Wedbush Securities after spending eight years there. He is launching a new merchant banking firm called Yorkville Ives & Co., described as a "modern merchant bank." This new venture will combine research, advisory services, capital raising, and investing under one roof, seeking to capitalize on opportunities driven by artificial intelligence and other significant economic shifts. Ives plans to continue covering technology stocks in a research capacity while building the new business.

Yorkville Ives & Co. is partnering with Yorkville Securities and will focus on sectors such as artificial intelligence, technology, industrials, energy transition, and infrastructure. The firm aims to provide capital raising, strategic advisory, and trading services, and will also invest its own capital alongside clients. This move comes amid growing demand on Wall Street for AI-related financing and advisory services, as companies are heavily investing in technology infrastructure.

The broader investment network linked to Yorkville Securities, American Ventures, has reportedly raised over $1 billion across 21 investment vehicles, targeting AI, crypto, drones, nuclear energy, and data centers. This network includes backing from Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., though Donald Trump Jr.'s spokesperson stated he is a passive investor and does not engage with the federal government on behalf of his investments. The investment strategy aligns closely with priorities promoted by the Trump administration, such as domestic drone manufacturing, AI infrastructure expansion, and cryptocurrency adoption.
