Liberty Energy and its subsidiary Liberty Power Innovations (LPI) have formed a strategic partnership with Vantage Data Centers to deliver up to one gigawatt (1 GW) of power within the next five years for Vantage’s North American data center campuses. This includes a reservation of 400 megawatts (MW) of power generation capacity for 2027 installations, with potential for expansion beyond 1 GW. LPI will own and operate these utility-scale, high-efficiency power solutions, which are designed to support cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure for major tech companies. The collaboration aims to accelerate data center development in markets with constrained grid capacity.
LPI's comprehensive platform, including Forte power generation and Tempo intelligent load management, provides reliable long-term primary power and grid management capabilities. These co-located generation units will connect via a dedicated distribution network, enabling high-density, AI-optimized operations, and can function autonomously or in parallel with the grid to maximize efficiency and reliability. The partnership seeks to protect local communities from increased power costs and supply strain while offering support to the local grid during periods of high demand.
As part of this initiative, Liberty Power Innovations has awarded Bergen Engines a contract for over 500 MW of on-site power generation capacity. This includes 45 B36:45V20 AG1 gas generator sets, each rated at 11.2 Mwe, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the second half of 2027. The total value of the supply contracts with Bergen Engines is approximately $505 million, covering engines and balance of plant equipment. These gas-fired units are designed to operate in true island mode, fully independent of the grid, or grid-parallel, and integrate with Piller Power Systems' SHIELDX Dynamic Power Stabilization technology to manage AI load variations and provide stable power over a 20+ year lifecycle.
