This one-woman-against-the-world series could potentially break a 32-year-old record for most Emmy nominations for a debut season, set by "NYPD Blue" with 26 nominations in 1994. Rhea Seehorn, the sole lead actor, is a favorite for Best Actress following her Golden Globes win, and Karolina Wydra is also a strong candidate for a supporting nomination.
"Hacks," in its fifth and final season, is expected to receive a healthy number of nominations, benefiting from the absence of last year's rookie hit "The Studio." Star Jean Smart is predicted to win her fifth Best Actress in a Comedy award, while Hannah Einbinder, who won Supporting Actress in a Comedy last year, and co-creator Paul W. Downs are also likely nominees.
