CFC, a cyber insurance specialist, has announced the appointment of Jane Poole as its new Group Chief Financial Officer. Poole will be responsible for CFC's financial strategy and performance as the company continues to expand globally. She is expected to join the company this month, following regulatory approval, and will succeed Michael Grist, who is stepping back from daily duties after nearly 16 years but will remain as an advisor.

Prior to joining CFC, Poole served as Group CFO at Direct Line Group, where she focused on improving profitability, capital strength, and operational resilience. Notably, she also oversaw the $3.7 billion acquisition of Direct Line Group by Aviva, a move that significantly expanded Aviva's presence in the UK insurance market. Before her role at Direct Line, Poole was the CFO for Aviva's UK & Ireland General Insurance business and held senior positions at RSA Insurance Group, including CFO of its UK & International businesses. She started her career as a Chartered Accountant at PwC.

CFC Group Chief Executive Louise O’Shea highlighted Poole’s extensive experience, stating that she brings deep FTSE 100 and general insurance executive expertise, along with a proven ability to lead strategic transformation and build high-performing teams. This appointment is part of a broader leadership restructuring at CFC, which also includes Nick Line joining as Chief Underwriting Officer in 2026. The changes are designed to support CFC’s international expansion and long-term growth across its core business lines.
