The Financial Times and Statista are currently accepting applications for their ninth annual High-Growth Companies Asia-Pacific 2027 ranking. This list aims to identify and highlight the fastest-growing businesses in the region. The submission period for this prestigious ranking is now open, indicating that companies can submit their financial data for consideration for the 2027 list. The ranking is based on revenue growth between specific years, likely following a similar methodology to previous years, which focused on revenue increases over a three-year period.
To be eligible for the 2027 ranking, companies must meet several criteria consistent with past years. These include generating significant revenue in their base year and final year of assessment. For instance, the 2026 ranking required revenue of at least $100,000 in 2021 and $1 million in 2024. The growth must be primarily organic, meaning it should originate from internal activities rather than acquisitions. Companies must also be independent, not subsidiaries, and headquartered in one of 14 Asia-Pacific locations such as Australia, China, India, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea.
The application process involves filling out an online form and having revenue figures certified by a senior company official like the CFO or CEO. The deadline for submissions for the 2026 ranking was December 15, 2025, and a similar timeframe can be expected for the 2027 list. The final ranking, typically comprising the top 500 companies, along with a special report highlighting interesting businesses and sectors, is usually published in print and online the following April.
For the 2026 ranking, Malaysian e-commerce technology platform Borong topped the list, demonstrating a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 295 percent, with revenues rising to $99.7 million. Singapore and India each had the most companies in the 2026 ranking with 101 companies. The minimum CAGR required to qualify for the 2026 list was 8.4 percent. The inclusion of Chinese companies for the first time in the 2026 ranking marked a significant expansion. Companies like Lendbox (India), Borong, and Etaily (Southeast Asia) were leaders in previous rankings, showcasing the diverse nature of high-growth businesses in the region.
