Veronneau had long admired The Cat House on the Kings, adding it to her bucket list after learning about its mission to save thousands of cats and dogs. The founder, Lynea Lattanzio, who converted her 4,200 square foot home into a cat haven and lives in a trailer, officiated the ceremony after some persuasion. The wedding was a simple outdoor affair by the Kings River, with no human guests, only the many feline attendees, some of whom interacted directly with the bride and groom during the event. Cats were reportedly lured to the ceremony with bowls of food and featured in official wedding photos.
The couple's love for cats was a central theme of their relationship from the beginning. Despite questions about adopting children, the couple, on their honeymoon, hinted at not being closed to the idea of adopting more cats.
