This spectacle will feature over 150 U.S. and allied aircraft, led by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, flying up the Hudson River. Additionally, on Saturday, July 4, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM EDT, there will be a Sail4th 250 Parade of Sail, where more than 30 tall ships from around the world will sail up the Hudson River in honor of the nation's founding.
The Intrepid Museum's events are part of a larger regional celebration in the Port of New York and New Jersey, which is expected to generate $2.85 billion in economic activity, with a net new economic impact of $730 million for New York City. The broader festivities will include an International Naval Review with 40+ allied and U.S. naval vessels and the 50th Anniversary of Macy's July 4th Fireworks Show over Manhattan. The museum itself, steeped in history as an aircraft carrier that served in World War II and the Vietnam War, aims to honor America's story and its contributions while inspiring future generations.
