Securitize, a firm specializing in the tokenization of real-world assets and backed by BlackRock, is set to make its public debut on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker "SECZ." This follows a merger with a blank-check firm, bringing Securitize approximately $400 million in proceeds. The company, which already manages over $4 billion in assets, views this public listing as a pivotal moment for the tokenization industry, demonstrating its shift from a theoretical concept to a mainstream financial bedrock. Its largest product, BlackRock's BUIDL, a tokenized money market fund, is valued at $2.4 billion.

CEO Carlos Domingo emphasizes the growing acceptance of tokenized securities, stating that the public listing will provide visibility, credibility, and capital for leadership in the sector. Securitize has forged partnerships with major institutions like Apollo, BNY, Hamilton Lane, and KKR. It also collaborated with the NYSE to develop systems for blockchain-native securities. The anticipated market debut will test Wall Street's appetite for companies directly involved in tokenization, with analysts like Benchmark reiterating a "Buy" rating and a $16 price target for Securitize.

Further expanding its reach, Securitize has partnered with market-maker Jump Trading to facilitate the trading of tokenized stocks. Jump Trading will act as the market-maker, while Securitize will provide the necessary infrastructure. This collaboration aims to broaden the market for stock trading using blockchain-based technology within existing regulatory frameworks. Securitize also plans to tokenize its own equity on its platform, showcasing its commitment to native tokenization where securities are issued directly on-chain for maximum potential and scalability.
