Bending Spoons, the Italian software company that owns Vimeo, AOL, and other digital platforms, priced its U.S. Initial Public Offering (IPO) at $29 per share. This was above its targeted range of $26 to $28, raising a total of $1.68 billion. The company and its existing shareholders, including Baillie Gifford, sold approximately 58 million shares.
The IPO valued Bending Spoons at roughly $18.4 billion, which represents a significant 67% increase from its valuation of $11 billion in its last funding round in October 2025. This valuation jump is attributed to strong financial performance, with the company reporting first-quarter 2026 revenue of $601 million, more than double the $259 million from the same period in 2025, and swinging from a $112 million net loss to a $27.5 million net profit.
Bending Spoons' shares began trading on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker "BSP" on Wednesday, July 1. This IPO is notable as one of the largest by a European company this year and a rare software IPO amidst an industry grappling with AI disruption. Goldman Sachs Group, JPMorgan Chase, and Allen & Co served as the lead underwriters for the offering. The company, co-founded by CEO Luca Ferrari in 2013, operates with a unique "hybrid" strategy, acquiring and integrating underperforming software businesses rather than selling them off like traditional private equity firms.
