America250, the nonpartisan organization leading the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, has released the first three tracks of "America's Soundtrack." This new national music collection aims to engage all 350 million Americans through a shared cultural language. The initial release includes "America" by Gloria and Emilio Estefan, a newly commissioned orchestral work titled "American Promise" by Karen LeFrak, and a choral rendition of "Battle Hymn of the Republic" by The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square. The debut tracks represent different musical traditions: "America" expresses gratitude for freedoms, "American Promise" is a musical portrayal of unity and faith commissioned for the anniversary by the National Symphony Orchestra, and "Battle Hymn of the Republic" highlights music's role in national unity.
The world premiere of "American Promise" is scheduled to be performed by the Miami Symphony Orchestra on March 8, 2026, with the London Symphony Orchestra having completed its recording. Additional performances by the National Symphony Orchestra and other orchestras are slated throughout the year. More artists and tracks will be announced over 2026, leading up to America250’s Fourth of July programming. The Tabernacle Choir's performance of "Battle Hymn of the Republic" follows its recent "Songs of Hope" World Tour, aligning with its mission to inspire hope and peace.
