Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. officially changed its corporate name to Del Monte Corporation and its NYSE ticker symbol from "FDP" to "DMC" on June 29, 2026. This rebranding follows the company's previously announced acquisition of select assets from Del Monte Foods Corporation II Inc. The move signifies Fresh Del Monte's expanded role as the global owner of the Del Monte brand, aiming for a unified global strategy, innovation, and long-term growth across its offerings, which now include both fresh and shelf-stable foods.

The acquisition, valued at approximately $285 million, was completed on March 19, 2026, through a court-supervised sale under Section 363 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. This transaction brought the Del Monte brand under a single owner for the first time in nearly 40 years. Mohammad Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman and CEO of Del Monte Corporation, emphasized that reuniting the brand under one global organization unlocks significant opportunities for expansion, innovation, and reaching consumers in new ways globally.

The acquired assets include global ownership of the Del Monte brand (subject to existing licensing arrangements), key prepared and packaged foods businesses such as Del Monte and S&W packaged vegetable brands, Del Monte and Contadina packaged tomato brands, and the Del Monte packaged refrigerated fruit brand. The acquisition also included a diversified manufacturing and operating footprint, comprising four U.S. facilities, two in Mexico, and one in Venezuela, along with material customer and supplier contracts, associated inventory, operating assets, and employees.

Certain assets were specifically excluded from the transaction. These exclusions encompass canned fruit and other ambient packaged fruit products for the United States, Puerto Rico, and Mexico, as well as the College Inn and Kitchen Basics brands and their related physical assets. Fresh Del Monte Corporation stated it is not affiliated with the former Del Monte Foods Corporation II Inc., which underwent a court-supervised sale process.

The company will house the newly acquired brands and businesses within a dedicated business unit, aiming for stability and continuity for all stakeholders. Fresh Del Monte does not anticipate immediate changes to products, packaging, or distribution, prioritizing seamless operations and a measured approach to integration. The company plans to share further details on integration progress and financial expectations during its first-quarter 2026 earnings call.
