Barry Smith, a retired tech CEO and self-proclaimed James Bond fan, recently acquired the "Villa Spectre" mansion in Delray Beach, Florida, for $36.8 million. This purchase, which included all furnishings and art, makes it the most expensive home sold in Delray Beach, surpassing the previous record of $26 million.
The 21,700-square-foot waterfront estate, located at 16161 Quiet Vista Circle within the Stone Creek Ranch community, boasts seven bedrooms, ten bathrooms, a theater, a private salon, and extensive spa facilities including an indoor pool, Himalayan salt room, steam room, and sauna. The property spans 2.5 lakefront acres and features a 95-foot outdoor pool, a soccer field, pickleball and basketball courts, a putting green, and an outdoor kitchen. The transaction was handled off-market by listing agent Senada Adzem.
Developed by Aldo Stark of Prestige Design Homes, "Villa Spectre" was completed in November after Stark purchased the property for $6.8 million in March 2023. The sale highlights a rising trend in ultra-luxury real estate in Delray Beach, with Adzem noting the market is now ready for pricing around $2,500 per square foot for non-oceanfront properties. Stark is also developing a Ferrari-inspired mansion, "Casa Maranello," adjacent to Villa Spectre, which is listed for $55 million.
