Shipowners and traders are showing increased confidence in traversing the Strait of Hormuz, with more vessels openly signaling their intentions to cross the chokepoint. This comes as tensions in the region appear to be easing. On Tuesday morning, seven tankers were observed in the strait using conventional tracking signals.
Among the vessels, two fully-laden non-Iranian supertankers were departing the Persian Gulf. Additionally, three product carriers sailed outbound, while two Iran-flagged Suezmaxes were approaching from the opposite direction. An eighth tanker, a very large crude carrier, also entered the gulf without broadcasting its presence during the passage, only reappearing after it had crossed the strait.
