Everpure CFO Tarek Robbiati emphasized at the Accelerate 2026 Summit that the substantial capital expenditures by hyperscalers on AI infrastructure are not a temporary phenomenon. He projected that these hyperscalers, including tech giants like Amazon, Microsoft, Alphabet, and Meta Platforms, are expected to collectively spend approximately $3 trillion in cumulative capital expenditures over the next three years. This figure is equivalent to twice the U.S. defense budget, with the FY2026 budget at roughly $1.01 trillion and the FY2027 request at approximately $1.45 trillion, highlighting the immense private capital flowing into compute, power, and silicon for AI.
Robbiati also noted that 2027 spending is anticipated to accelerate further, indicating a sustained growth trajectory in AI investment. Everpure, formerly Pure Storage, positions itself to capitalize on this spending by offering a software layer called Universal Data Intelligence. This solution aims to make enterprise data usable for AI agents without requiring customers to migrate all their data onto Everpure systems, addressing a crucial need for maximizing returns on infrastructure investments.
The productivity gains from AI tools are already becoming evident, according to Everpure's VP of Product Development, Chad Kenny. He noted that product managers are seeing productivity increases of 2x to 5x with AI adoption. This tangible return on investment and favorable total cost of ownership has shifted conversations from pilot projects to multi-year infrastructure commitments among corporate buyers. This trend is also leading Everpure to engage with new buying centers, such as chief data officers.
The substantial investment also bodes well for suppliers in the AI ecosystem. Companies like NVIDIA, with a forward P/E of 23x, and Broadcom, with its reported XPV project targeting 20 gigawatts of custom chips, are well-positioned to benefit. The key indicator for this sustained trend will be the 2027 capital expenditure guidance from the hyperscaler cohort, as any increase would further solidify Robbiati’s outlook and potentially enlarge the defense budget comparison.
