Rockstar Games has officially announced that pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will commence on June 25. This reveal was accompanied by the unveiling of the game's official cover art, featuring protagonists Jason and Lucia in the Vice City setting. The pre-order availability will be across digital storefronts for PlayStation and Xbox, as well as select online and physical retailers.

The highly anticipated title is set to launch on November 19, 2026, exclusively for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. There has been no announcement regarding a PC release date, following Rockstar's pattern of launching console versions first, as seen with GTA V which had an 18-month gap before its PC debut. Adding the game to wishlists is currently available on the PlayStation and Xbox stores.

While the official price has not yet been confirmed, industry speculation suggests GTA VI could be one of the first AAA games to retail for $100. Other estimates suggest a standard edition price between $70 and $80, consistent with current AAA titles. Information on different editions or premium bundles, along with potential pre-order bonuses, is expected to be revealed closer to the pre-order date.

This confirmation of the pre-order date and November release solidifies prior expectations and ends speculation about potential delays. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick emphasized that the game is entirely handcrafted, with "zero generative AI," built "building by building, street by street." This extensive development is expected to make GTA VI a significant test of human artistry in an industry increasingly adopting AI tools.

Following the pre-order announcement, a new marketing push is anticipated, likely including additional gameplay footage, insights into the protagonists, and potentially a third trailer. GTA V has sold nearly 230 million copies, and Take-Two anticipates GTA VI will achieve "new record levels of operating performance," already impacting the gaming calendar with other publishers reportedly moving their release dates to avoid direct competition.
