Netflix is set to release "I Will Find You" on June 18, an eight-part miniseries adapted from Harlan Coben's novel of the same name. This marks the 13th Coben novel processed by Netflix as part of a 14-book deal with the author.
The series centers on David Burroughs (played by Sam Worthington), a father serving a life sentence for the perceived murder of his son. When presented with evidence suggesting his son is alive, David breaks out of prison to find him. He is aided by his sister-in-law, Rachel (Britt Lower), an investigative journalist who never believed in his guilt, and Rachel's ex-partner, Hayden (Milo Ventimiglia).
The plot quickly devolves into a labyrinthine global conspiracy, typical of Coben's work, where David and Rachel face a shadowy world of criminals and a puppet-master controlling various figures, from prison wardens to charity bosses. While previous Netflix adaptations of Coben's novels were typically set in Europe, "I Will Find You" is set in the United States, specifically Boston, which allows for larger action sequences.
Robert Hull serves as the lead writer and showrunner, with Coben acting as an executive producer. This adaptation is notable as Coben wrote the novel in concert with the development of the television series, a new approach for him. The series is described as a "maddeningly watchable crap with bells on," offering a compelling narrative for thriller enthusiasts despite the repetitive nature often found in Coben's numerous adaptations.
